The GAMBIS (Gambian Biometric Identification System) project is hosted by the Government of the Gambia and targets to improve the national development and security, as well as to protect each individual’s identity. Thus, since July 2009 unforgeable identification cards are issued to eligible residents, whilst developing a national population database alongside.

Since January 2010 biometric driving licenses are issued and more documents are planned to be connected to the national database, which allows to verify an individual’s identity by thumbprint or a unique national identification number.

Pristine Consulting developed and maintains the diverse software systems and supplied the government with the necessary technology to produce national documents of highest standards. Further, intense training was provided for the staff of the diverse departments implementing the data enrollment process. Pristine Consulting continuously monitors the process and provides technical assistance around the eight GAMBIS stations and four mobile units.

What began as an employee identity card project has developed into an extensive relationship that has helped improve the productivity and efficiency of the Social Security and Housing Finance Corporation (SSHFC) organization-wide.

Pristine Consulting developed a modular system for the SSHFC’s Mortgages, Financial, and Human Resources departments. Pristine Consulting also designed the SSHFC’s website and updated their organizational security software. Finally, Pristine continues to provide state-of-the-art technical support for the entire office environment whilst developing other solutions at the SSHFC’s request.
